I am secretly a fulgar
It’s true. Also, I am awesome. We mysteriously lost power on one wall in the main story of my mom’s house last night. Annoyingly, this was the wall with the modem plugged in—that was how I noticed in the first place. Today I replaced a very old GICI outlet and reset the power without once electrocuting myself.

I may be one of the most suggestible people in the world. It doesn’t even have to be an ad for me to think “hmmm, yes, I want to eat that.” I just walked past the living room where there was a clip on the news about the Obama family getting snow cones (how is that news?) and now I’m sitting here thinking GODDAMN, I WANT A SNOW CONE.

So…I never really planned to use tumblr to blog stuff—just to follow blogs I like in a more convenient fashion. But that has changed because the more people I follow, the more I LOVE TUMBLR. So. Ask?

queerwatch: “The consensus among all the professionals was that he is capable of making, and has made, an informed decision,” the judge said. Trigger/note: male pronouns used throughout, as well as referring to other cases of trans persons with their birth sex pronouns. This is really big in a lot of ways. 1. They use the word autistic to refer to someone with Asperger’s. This is a...

reasons why I need therapy
I've been uninsured since April, which means talk therapy has been well out of my price range--the minimum sliding scale offered locally is about $50 a session, and I do best with at least once a week meetings.
Me, excited: And maybe the health insurance will make it affordable for me to get therapy!
My mom and brother: What? What do you need therapy for?
Uh, I dunno, maybe for a number of reasons, one of which is YOU QUESTIONING MY DESIRE FOR THERAPY. Fuck you.

TEN THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RACE
lieuien: TEN THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RACE adailyriot: Our eyes tell us that people look different. No one has trouble distinguishing a Czech from a Chinese. But what do those differences mean? Are they biological? Has race always been with us? How does race affect people today? There’s less - and more - to race than meets the eye: 1. Race is a modern idea. Ancient societies,...

Indentured Servants →
Let’s look at the numbers and see what I mean. What is the average salary for a Wal-Mart associate (the label is such a joke in itself)? Maybe he or she earns $9.00 an hour. OK, let’s make it $10 an hour for argument sake. They work 40 hours, meaning a gross of $400 a week. Take out the approximately 7% for FICA and then federal withholding and the take home is what?  About $300 a week, just for...

So I started packing a couple years ago. Not an every day thing—just the days I feel more boy than not, which are increasingly frequent as I really get comfortable with being non-cis. And I’m also in what feels like an interminably long-distance stage of my relationship with my girlfriend, so there’s travelling across continents at least once a year. Packing was never so...

09340785902-deactivated20110312 asked: Kate Beaton is amazing. She knows history and literature very well and has a knack for making it hilarious through her comics. I feel like her webcomic isn't as popular as other comics (Questionable Content, Dinosaur Comics, A Softer World) in the TopatoCo network, which is a shame...her comics never fail to amuse me and Hark! A Vagrant is one of the few webcomics I follow regularly.

Other thing I notice.
wheredidmarygo: From following “Fuck Yeah Bisexuals!” for so long. I see a ton of girls who will post and say “Yeah I’m bi, but I loooooove the ladies so much more! ;)” I never see a girl saying they’re bi and prefer men. Or a guy saying they’re bi and prefer women. Are these bisexuals afraid that if they admit liking the opposite gender more, they’ll be perceived as “faking it?” I understand...
