Remember our blog-sitter Raven? She and I are FB friends (natch) and she posted this awesome picture of her taken by the Pro-Life Action League. She does clinic escorting to help people get healthcare without being harassed by these pro-forced-birth advocates. You can’t see it exactly, but she is definitely flipping them off through her mitten. That is so Raven.

When I did clinic escort work we were taught:
— to explain to our clients that they did not need and really shouldn’t try to speak to the anti-choice “sidewalk counselors;”
— about the FACE Act, so that we could spot when the anti-choice zealots violated the law;
— never to interact with the anti-choicers in any way, shape, or form if humanly possible.
Flipping-off these nut jobs — who’ve murdered doctors and bombed clinics — is something you do not do. But given your lack of control online, Raven, I’m not surprised that you lack it offline as well.
You have the gall to criticize me for my behavior? Your history of attacking and provoking men online is bad enough, but here you were potentially jeopardizing the safety of clients and the clinic. You of all people should know how unstable some of those “pro-lifers” are.
I’ve emailed this link and will fax a hard copy of this post to the Family Planning Medical Group’s Chicago Loop office, with the recommendation that you be dismissed as a volunteer; you simply have too much hatred and anger in you to be trusted. — Ryking
Wow, Ryking, this is beyond fucking unacceptable. You’re going to personally contact a place she volunteers and ask her to be dismissed as a clinic escort — a desperately needed person in the pro-choice movement? That. Is. Harassment. What you are doing is harassment.
I’m not worried that the FPMG will fire her. If they need a character reference, they can call me. But I doubt a picture of someone allegedly flipping off the camera through a mitten is enough to warrant a removal.
Raven does not attack and provoke men. YOU STARTED THIS WITH THAT TWITTER BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT. Please do not ever reblog something from my fucking blog ever again. The fact that you would use a friendly post like this to victimize her makes my stomach churn.
I haven’t said much on the Ryking issue because he’s a violent misogynist who told me to go kill myself. And Raven doesn’t need me to fight her battles for her. But this is… I didn’t think you could get here, buddy, but this is a new low.
